What Weathershields Do
Weathershields, sometimes called window visors or weather shields, sit along the top edge of each door window. They extend outward just enough to create a sheltered gap, which means you can open your car window slightly without wind and rain getting into the cabin.
That sounds simple, and it is. But the everyday benefits add up quickly.
In wet weather, weather shields let you keep some airflow moving through the cabin without getting your arm or the interior soaked. If you want to be able to open a window for fresh air during a shower without everything getting wet, weathershields make that possible. They also help reduce fogging on the inside of the windscreen, which is a common problem when all the windows are sealed shut in the rain.
On hot days, cracking the windows while parked lets heat escape from the cabin instead of building up inside. Anyone who has climbed into a car that has been sitting in full sun knows how much of a difference even a small gap makes. With weathershields fitted, you are able to open that gap without worrying about rain or dust getting in while the vehicle is parked.
On the highway, if you have ever been buffeted by wind when driving with the windows partially down, you know how uncomfortable that gets on a long trip. Weathershields cut down on that wind buffeting and reduce wind noise significantly. Instead of a blast of turbulent air coming through the gap, the airflow is smoother and quieter, making long drives more comfortable. Being able to open your car window while driving without getting buffeted is one of those small things that makes a real difference day to day.
For tradies who spend all day in the vehicle and customers who regularly deal with changing weather conditions, weathershields are one of those upgrades that quickly become something you would not want to go without. They pair well with bonnet protectors for a matching, stylish exterior look, and many vehicles in our range have combo packs that bundle both together in a single purchase.
Materials and Styles
Our weathershield range includes several different materials and style options depending on the vehicle.
Standard tinted acrylic weathershields are the most common type across the range. These are lightweight, UV resistant and built from quality materials that handle years of Australian sun without cracking, fading or peeling. The tinted finish reduces glare from the side and gives the windows a clean, slightly darkened look from the outside.
Injection moulded weathershields are a step up in thickness and rigidity. These are manufactured from heavier material that holds its shape firmly and tends to feel more solid once fitted. We stock injection moulded options for vehicles like the Mitsubishi Pajero, and they are a good choice for owners who want something more substantial.
Slimline smoke tint weathershields offer a lower profile, more subtle look. These are available for vehicles including the Kia Tasman, Haval Jolion, Chery Tiggo 4 Pro, BMW X5, Suzuki Swift, Mazda 3, Ford Mustang, Ford F-150 and Kia Sonet. If you prefer a weathershield that sits closer to the window line without standing out too much, the slimline style is worth considering.
For the Toyota Hilux, there are additional style choices beyond the standard option. The Mugen style weathershields have a slightly different profile and contour that gives the windows a sportier look. The Revo style is another alternative with its own distinct shape. Both are available for the 2015-2024 Hilux and offer a way to personalise the look beyond the standard set.
A few models also have unique options. The MG ZS and HS have stainless steel trimmed weathershields for a more premium finish. The Mitsubishi Pajero has a luxury sun visor style option. And we even carry a premium caravan weathershield designed for wind and rain protection on caravans, which is a different product to the vehicle-mounted sets but sits in the same category.

Many vehicles have both standalone weathershield sets and bonnet protector combo packs available, so check whether your model has both options and decide which suits your needs.
Choosing and Ordering
The key details to confirm before ordering are your vehicle make, model, year and cab or body type. Many utes have separate options for dual cab, extra cab and single cab configurations, and getting this right is essential for a perfect fit.
From there, decide whether you want standalone weathershields or a combo pack with a bonnet protector. If you already have a bonnet protector fitted, the standalone set is all you need. If not, the combo pack gets both sorted in one go and typically offers better value.
If your vehicle has multiple style options, like the Mugen and Revo styles for the Hilux or standard versus thick profile for the D-MAX and Forester, take a look at the product images to see which profile you prefer before ordering.
Installation is quick and easy across the range. Most sets come with clear instructions and attach using 3M automotive tape or vehicle-specific clips, with no drilling required. Each set is designed for a custom fit to your specific vehicle, so once installed they sit flush against the door frame and stay secure at highway speeds, on corrugated roads and through everything else. Protect your car’s cabin comfort without any permanent modifications.
All weathershields ship Australia-wide with free delivery to major metro postcodes. Orders placed before 12PM are dispatched same day, and local pickup is available from our Bayswater warehouse. If you have already ordered a bonnet protector separately, consider adding a matching weathershield set to complete the look.
